The Maze Runner is an upcoming American science-fiction mystery drama thriller film based on a 2009 book of same name by James Dashner, directed by Wes Ball and script by Noah Oppenheim. The film stars Dylan O'Brien, Thomas Sangster, Kaya Scodelario, Will Poulter, Ki Hong Lee, Blake Cooper and Jacob Latimore. Creature designer Ken Barthelmey has created concept designs for the film.[1] It is set to be released on February 14, 2014 in the United States by 20th Century Fox.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm also not seeing Minho (Ki Hong Lee) or Alby (Aml Ameen) in that shot, which makes me wonder if they're behind the camera's view here. A certain scene from the book is coming to mind and I'm wondering if that opening where they're all standing is moments from closing. I won't go into further specifics on that for those who haven't read the book, but those who have might know which scene I'm referring to. Any chance that's what we're looking at here?

The Maze Runner is due out February 14 and is based on a book by James Dashner about a group of teens (almost all boys) sentenced to live in a walled place called the Glade. Each of them arrived there on an elevator with no memory of how they got there or even who they are, beyond their own name. Each morning, the walls open up to a huge maze. The "runners" among the Gladers spend the daylight hours running through the maze, trying to find a way out or some clue as to why they're there. No one wants to get caught in the maze at night after the walls close and the grievers come out. The story begins with Thomas' arrival, which is followed one day later by the arrival of Teresa (Kaya Scodelario), the first female to ever arrive on the elevator, which draws suspicion on Thomas. But with no memory of who he is, or anyone he knows, Teresa's possible connection to him is one more mystery to solve while trying to survive in The Glade.
